பத்ம ஸ்ரீ விருது வென்ற பழ விற்பனையாளர்! சொற்ப சேமிப்பில் பள்ளிக் கூடம் கட்டி ஏழை மாணவர்களுக்கு கல்வி வழங்கும் ஹரேகலா ஹஜாபா 

கர்நாடக மாநிலம் நியூபாடபு கிராமத்தை சேர்ந்தவர் 68 வயதான ஹரேகலா ஹஜாபா. ஆரஞ்சு பழங்களை விற்பனை செய்து கிடைக்கும் சொற்ப வருமானத்தில் தனது வாழ்க்கையை நடத்தி வந்தார். 

பள்ளிக் கூடம் சென்று முறைப்படி கல்வி கற்காத அவர் தனது கிராமத்தில் உள்ள மசூதியில் ஏழை மாணவர்களுக்கு கல்வி கற்பித்து வந்தார். மாணவர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரித்ததை அடுத்து தனது சொற்ப வருமானத்தில் மிச்சப்படுத்திய பணத்தை கொண்டு பள்ளி கட்டுவதற்காக நிலம் வாங்கினார். 

ஹரேகலா ஹஜபா 2000ம் ஆண்டில் அந்த கிராமத்தில் ஒரு பள்ளியை கட்டாத வரை அங்கு பள்ளிக் கூடம் கிடையாது. அவரின் முயற்சியால் ஏழை மாணவர்கள் கல்வி என்ற அறிவொளியை பெற்று வருகின்றனர்.

கிராமத்தில் பள்ளி கூடம் தொடங்க வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணம் எப்படி ஏற்பட்டது என்பது குறித்து ஹரேகலா ஹஜபா கூறுகையில், பல ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் ஒரு வெளிநாட்டு சுற்றுலா ஜோடியினர் என்னிடம் ஆரஞ்சு பழம் என்ன விலை என்று என்னிடம் கேட்டனர். 

அவர்கள் கேட்டது எனக்கு புரியவில்லை. மேலும் பல முயற்சிகள் செய்தும் என்னால் துலு மற்றும் பீரி மொழியை தவிர வேறு எதுவும் என்னால் பேச முடியவில்லை. இதனால் அவர்கள் என்னிடம் பழம் வாங்கமால் சென்று விட்டனர். அதனை நான் மிகவும் மோசமாக உணர்ந்தேன். 

இது போன்ற நிலைமை வேறு யாருக்கும் நிகழக் கூடாது குறைந்தபட்சம் எனது சொந்த கிராம குழந்தைகளுக்கு ஏற்பட கூடாது என முடிவு செய்தேன். ஒருவரின் வளர்ச்சிக்கு தகவல்தொடர்பு மிகவும் உதவும் மேலும் மக்களை ஒன்றிணைக்கும் என்பத நான் உணர்ந்தேன் என தெரிவித்தார்.

ஐ.எப்.எஸ். அதிகாரி பர்வீன் கஸ்வான் தனது டிவிட்டரில், கடந்த சில தினங்களுக்கு முன், ஹரேகலா ஹஜாபா ரேஷன் கடையில் வரிசையில் நின்ற கொண்டிருந்த போது, நாட்டின் 4வது பெரிய மதிப்புமிக்க சிவில் விருதான பத்ம ஸ்ரீ விருது வழங்கப்படும் இருக்கும் தகவலை அதிகாரிகள் அவரிடம் தெரிவித்தனர். 

தக்ஷின் கன்னட மாவட்டத்தை சேர்ந்த அந்த பழ விற்பனையாளர் தனது சேமிப்புகள் அனைத்தையும் ஏழை குழந்தைகள் கல்வி கற்பதற்காக செலவிட்டார் என டிவிட்டரில் பதிவு செய்து இருந்தார். தற்போது அந்த டிவிட் டிவிட்டரில் அதிகளவில் பகிரப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

Padma Shri award winning fruit vendor! Harekala Hajaba, a poor schoolgirl who educates poor students by building school

Harekala Hajaba, 68, hails from Newpatabu village in Karnataka state. He made his living by selling oranges and earning little. He did not go to school regularly and educated poor students in his village mosque. 

With the increase in the number of students, he bought land to build a school with the savings in his limited income. Until Harekala Hajaba built a school in the village in 2000, there was no school.

Harekala Hajaba said years ago, when a foreign tourist couple asked me what the price of orange fruit was, how they felt about starting a school in the village. I don't understand what they heard. After many more attempts, I could not speak anything other than the language of Tulu and Beeri. 

So they went to me with no fruit. I felt so bad about it. I decided that such a situation should not happen to anyone else, at least not to my own children. I felt that communication would be more helpful and unite people for one's development. 

Officials informed him of the Padma Shri award, the country's 4th most prestigious civil award, when Parveen Ghazwan was on his Twitter queue at the Harekala Hajaba ration shop just days ago. 

The fruit vendor from Dakshin Kannada district had posted on Twitter that all his savings were spent on educating poor children. The tweet is currently being shared widely on Twitter.
