உங்களுடைய செல்போன் தொலைந்துவிட்டால் அதை பிளாக் செய்யும் வசதியை மத்திய தொலைத்தொடர்பு துறை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது. இந்த சேவை தற்போது டெல்லியில் மட்டும் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. விரைவில் இந்தியா முழுவதும் அறிமுகம் செய்யப்படும் என்று தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

இந்த தொழில்நுட்பத்தை டெலிமாடிக்ஸ் மேம்பாட்டு மையம் உருவாக்கியுள்ளது. ஒருவரின் செல்போன் தொலைந்துவிட்டால் முதலில் அவர் அருகில் உள்ள காவல் நிலையத்திற்கு சென்று எஃப்ஐஆர் பதிவு செய்ய வேண்டும். அதன் பிறகு https://ceir.gov.in/ என்ற இணையதளத்துக்கு சென்று எஃப்ஐஆர் தகவல்களையும், தனிநபர் தகவல்களையும், தொலைந்து போன செல்போனின் IMEI நம்பரையும் பதிவு செய்ய வேண்டும்.

அப்படி பதிவு செய்த பின்னர் உங்களுக்கான பிரத்யேக எண் உங்களுக்கு வழங்கப்படும். அந்த எண்ணை கொண்டு உங்களுடைய செல்போன் எங்கு இருக்கிறது என்று நீங்கள் டிராக் செய்ய முடியும். இதுகுறித்து பேசிய மத்திய அமைச்சர் ரவி சங்கர் பிரசாத், 'இந்த தொழில்நுட்பம் குற்றவாளிகள் திருட்டு செல்போன்களை பயன்படுத்தி குற்றம் செய்வதை தடுக்கவும், மொபைல் போன்களின் பாதுகாப்புக்காகவும் செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 உங்கள் செல்போன் தொலைந்துபோன பிறகு இந்த தொழில்நுட்பம் மூலம் பிளாக் செய்துவிட்டால், உங்கள் போனை வேறு யாராலும் பயன்படுத்த முடியாது. பின்னர் உங்கள் போன் டிராக் செய்யப்பட்டு கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டால் அதை மீண்டும் பயன்பாட்டுக்கு கொண்டு வர முடியும்' என்று கூறியுள்ளார்.
