The expert committee appointed to study on improving the quality of school education in the state has recommended to replace the posts of headmasters with principals in schools.
The new posts will be called principal (secondary), principal (lower secondary), principal (primary), principal (lower primary).
Also education offices should be set up at both revenue and district levels. For this new post called Joint Director of School Education should be created. The basic element in education system will be school. Each school will have only one head.
All the vocational higher secondary schools should be converted as secondary schools.
Scientific and systematic physical training and artistic training should be imparted to students from Class 5 to Class 12.
The panel has also recommended to expand the Kerala Administrative Service as Kerala Education Service in education sector.
