மாவட்ட அளவிலான ஓவியப் போட்டிகளில் ஏராளமான பரிசுகளை பெற்றுள்ளேன். சிறு வயதிலிருந்தே பாரதியாரின் பாடல்களால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டேன். பெண் விடுதலைக்காக பாரதியார் பாடிய பாடல்கள் எனக்கு மிகவும் பிடிக்கும். ஆகவே, அவரது பிறந்தநாளில் ஏதாவது செய்யவேண்டும் என எண்ணினேன். அவ்வாறு உருவானது தான் இந்த 138 பாக்குத்தட்டுகளில் வரைந்த ஓவியம். இவற்றை வரைய 23 மணி நேரம் ஆனது. ஆளுநரை சந்திக்க வாய்ப்பு கிடைக்கும் என நான் கனவிலும் நினைக்கவில்லை. அதுவும் எனக்குப் பிடித்த பாரதியாரின் ஓவியத்தை ஆளுநரிடம் அளித்தது எனக்கு மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்தது. 

இப்படியொரு வாய்ப்பை ஏற்படுத்திக் கொடுத்த தினமணிக்கு எனது நன்றியை இந்த நேரத்தில் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். இதுபோன்று இன்னும் பல சாதனைகள் புரிய வேண்டும் என்ற உத்வேகத்தை தினமணியின் பாரதி விழா எனக்கு தந்திருக்கிறது'' என்றார். சம்ஹிதா குறித்து அவருடைய தாயார் மீனாட்சிசுந்தரி கூறியது: "எங்கள் மகள் ஆளுநரின் பாராட்டைப் பெற்றது எங்களுக்கு மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சியை அளிக்கிறது. சம்ஹிதா ஓவியம் மட்டுமின்றி, கர்நாடக சங்கீதமும் கற்று வருகிறார். யோகாவிலும் ஈடுபாடு உள்ளது. படிப்பிலும் மாநில அளவில் சிறந்த மாணவியாக உள்ளார். மருத்துவராக வேண்டும் என்பதே அவளுடைய கனவு'' என்றார்.
