Do men consume too much sugar? .. girls?
One study found that women consumed more sugar than men. The Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR) and the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) in Hyderabad are conducting a study. It is sponsored by the International Institute of Life Sciences in India.
According to the survey, women take 20.2 grams of sugar a day. The amount of sugar that men consume per day is 18.7 grams. The study found that women consume more sugar than men. Significantly, in India's metro cities, the quantity of sugar consumed is higher in Mumbai and lower in Hyderabad.
The average sugar intake of Mumbai and Ahmedabad population is 26.3 g and 25.9 g respectively. 23.2 g in Delhi. Bangalore - 19.3 gm, Kolkata-17.1 gm and Chennai-16.1 gm. In all metro cities, an average of 19.5 grams of sugar is consumed per day. The amount of energy available through the consumption of sugar is also determined.
Accordingly, Mumbai (6.6%), followed by Delhi (6.1%), Ahmedabad (5.9%), Hyderabad (5.4%), Bangalore (4.1%), Chennai (3.9%) and Kolkata (3.5%), respectively. Consistently, age-based surveys have shown that, in general, the elderly consume slightly more sugar than the younger.
The study found that 36-59 year olds were consuming 20.5 grams a day, while those over the age of 60 consumed 20.3 grams of sugar a day. Similarly, adolescents add an average of 19.9 grams of sugar per day to 18-25 year olds, 19.4 grams per day, and schoolchildren 17.6 grams to 5 years of age.
