ஒன்றாம் வகுப்பு முதல் பிளஸ் 2 வரை தமிழ் வழியில் படித்த மாணவர்கள், உயர்கல்வியை ஆங்கில வழியில் படிக்கும்போதும், வேலை வாய்ப்புகளுக்கான நேர்முகத் தேர்வின் போதும் கஷ்டப்படுவது தொடர்கதையாகவே உள்ளது. 

தாய்மொழி மொழி கல்விக்கு எவ்வளவு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்கப்படுகிறதோ, அதற்கு இணையாக ஆங்கில மொழிக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்க வேண்டும்.

ஆங்கில மொழியில் சரளமாக உரையாடும் வகையில் பேச்சாற்றல் பெறுவதற்கு முறையாக பயிற்சி அளித்து அந்நிலையை அடைய தொடர் முயற்சியை ஊக்கப்படுத்தும்போது மாணவர்களின் ஆங்கில பேச்சாற்றலை கண்டிப்பாக வளர்க்க முடியும். 

ஒன்று முதல் 5-ம் வகுப்புக்கு 2-ம் பருவத்துக்கு ஒரு கையேடும், 6 முதல் 9-ம் வகுப்புக்கு 3 பருவங்களுக்கும் சேர்த்து வகுப்பு வாரியாக 4 கையேடுகளும் தயாரிக்கப்பட்டு, பயிற்சி அளிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. 

ஒன்று முதல் 5-ம் வகுப்பு வரை வாரத்துக்கு 90 நிமிடத்துக்கும், 6 முதல் 9-ம் வகுப்புக்கு வாரத்துக்கு 45 நிமிடத்துக்கும் ஒரு பாடவேளையில் ஆங்கில பேச்சுத்திறன் பயிற்சியும் அளிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. 

இதற்கு ஒரு படி மேலாக சென்ற ஆந்திர பிரதேச அரசு, மாநிலத்தில் தெலுங்கு வழியில் இருந்து அனைத்துஅரசு பள்ளிகளையும் கடும் எதிர்ப்புக்கு இடையில் முற்றிலுமாக ஆங்கில வழிக்கு மாற்றிவிட்டது. 

இந்நிலையில், கேரளாவில் பள்ளி மாணவர்களின் ஆங்கில மொழித் திறனை மேம்படுத்துவதற்காக கேரள உள்கட்டமைப்பு மற்றும் கல்விக்கான தொழில்நுட்பம் (கைட்) புதிய முயற்சியை மேற்கொண்டு வருகிறது. 

உயர்தரமிக்க ஆய்வக வசதிகளை பயன்படுத்துவதன் மூலம் மாணவர்களின் ஆங்கில மொழித் திறனைமேம்படுத்துவதற்கும் வளப்படுத்துவதற்கும் 'மகிழுங்கள், மேம்படுத்துங்கள் வளப்படுத்துங்கள் - இ-3' (Enjoy, Enhance and Enrich) என்ற திட்டம் அரசு பள்ளிகளில் அறிமுகம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.
