கோவை: ஓட்டுநர் உரிமம் பெற நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்ட 8ம் வகுப்பு கல்வித்தகுதி நீக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதால், புதிதாக ஓட்டுநர் உரிமம் பெற விண்ணப்பிப்போரின் எண்ணிக்கை பல மடங்கு அதிகரித்துள்ளதாக போக்குவரத்து துறை அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்தனர்.

கோவை சரகத்தில் கோவை, திருப்பூர், நீலகிரி மாவட்டங்களில் கோவை தெற்கு, வடக்கு, மையம், மேற்கு, திருப்பூர் வடக்கு, தெற்கு, தாராபுரம், பொள்ளாச்சி, ஊட்டி ஆகிய வட்டார போக்குவரத்து அலுவலகங்களும், சூலூர், அவினாசி, காங்கயம், வால்பாறை, 

மேட்டுப்பாளையம், கூடலூர், உடுமலைப்பேட்டை ஆகிய பகுதி வட்டார போக்குவரத்து அலுவலகங்களும் செயல்பட்டு வருகின்றன. 

 இந்த அலுவலகங்களில் தினந்தோறும் ஆயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட பழகுனர் உரிமம் பெறவும், 2 ஆயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்டவர்கள் ஓட்டுநர் உரிமம், புதிய வாகன பதிவு, எப்.சி உள்ளிட்டவைகளுக்காக வருகின்றனர். 

மோட்டார் வாகன விதிப்படி கார், ஆட்டோ போன்ற இலகு ரக பொதுப்போக்குவரத்து (சரக்கு, பயணிகள்) வாகனங்களை இயக்க உரிமம் பெற (பேட்ஜ்), 20 வயது பூர்த்தியாகி இருக்க வேண்டும். 

பஸ், லாரி போன்ற கனரக வாகனங்களை இயக்குவதற்கு உரிமம் பெற, இலகுரக போக்குவரத்து வாகன உரிமம் பெற்று ஓராண்டு பூர்த்தியாகி இருக்க வேண்டும். 

இந்த உரிமங்களை பெற குறைந்தபட்ச கல்வித் தகுதியாக 8ம் வகுப்பு நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டது. இதனால்,படிக்காதவர்கள் வாகனம் ஓட்டும் திறன் பயிற்சி பெற்றிருந்தும் உரிமம் பெற முடியாத நிலை ஏற்பட்டது. இதனால் வாடகை வாகன ஓட்டுநர்களுக்கு நாடு முழுவதும் தட்டுப்பாடு ஏற்பட்டது. 

இதையடுத்து, கல்வித் தகுதியை நீக்க வேண்டும் என்ற கோரிக்கைகள் எழுந்தன. இதையடுத்து, ஓட்டுநர் உரிமம் பெறுவதற்கான குறைந்தபட்ச கல்வித்தகுதியை நீக்குவதாக மத்திய சாலைப்போக்குவரத்து அமைச்சகம் அறிவித்தது.

அடிப்படை கல்வித் தகுதி நீக்கப்பட்டாலும், போக்குவரத்து விதிகள், சாலையில் உள்ள போக்குவரத்துக் குறியீடுகள், எச்சரிக்கை அறிவிப்புகள், ஆபத்துக் காலங்களில் பின்பற்ற வேண்டிய பாதுகாப்பு நடவடிக்கைகள் குறித்த தெளிவான பயிற்சியை ஓட்டுநர்கள் பெற்றிருக்க வேண்டுமென மத்திய சாலை போக்குவரத்து அமைச்சகம் வலியுறுத்தி உள்ளது.

This has increased the number of applicants requesting a badge. Regional Transport Department officials said: 100 to 300 applications were received in the past year for badge, when education was in force to obtain a license. 

With the cancellation of education, the number of applicants is increasing. Approximately 1000 to 1700 applications were received at each regional traffic office last January. 

Despite the elimination of basic education, the Federal Road Transport Ministry has insisted that drivers must have clear training in traffic rules, traffic codes, warning signs and safety measures to be followed in times of danger.
