திருவாரூர் மாவட்டம் காட்டூர் கிராமத்தில் 1922 டிசம்பர் 19-ம் தேதி பிறந்த அன்பழகனின் இயற்பெயர் இராமையா. சுயமரியாதை இயக்க கொள்கைகளில் கொண்ட ஈடுபாட்டின் காரணத்தால் அன்பழகன் என பெயரை மாற்றிக்கொண்டார்.

1957-இல் திமுக சந்தித்த முதல் சட்டமன்ற தேர்தல் மூலம் சென்னை எழும்பூரிலிருந்து எம்.எல்.ஏவாக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டு, 9 முறை சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினராக இருந்தவர் என்ற பெருமையை பெற்றவர். 1971-இல் கலைஞரின் அமைச்சரவையில் சமூக நலத்துறை அமைச்சராக பொறுப்பேற்று பின் கல்வித்துறை,

நிதித்துறை உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு துறைகளுக்கு அமைச்சராக திறம்பட பணியாற்றியவர். 1984-ஆம் ஆண்டு ஈழத்தமிழர் கோரிக்கையை வலியுறுத்தி திமுக தலைவர் கலைஞரோடு, தனது எம்.எல்.ஏ பதவியை இராஜினாமா செய்தவர் பேராசிரியர் க.அன்பழகன். 1 முறை மேல்சபை உறுப்பினராகவும், 1 முறை நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினராகவும் இருந்தவர்.

Senior politician and DMK general secretary K Anbhagan has passed away. He was 98 years old.

Born on December 19, 1922 in Kattur village in Thiruvarur district, the name of Anamalagan is Ramaiah. Due to his involvement in self-respecting principles, he changed his name to Dhanabhagan. In the first assembly elections in 1957, DMK was elected as an MLA from Egmore, Chennai, where he was a nine-time legislator.

In 1971, he became the Minister of Social Welfare in the Cabinet of Artists and later served as Minister for various sectors including Education and Finance. Prof. K.Anabhagan, who resigned his MLA position with the DMK leader artist at the request of the Eelam Tamils in 1984. 1 member of Upper House and 1 Member of Parliament.
