தேசிய புள்ளியல் துறையில் பணியில் தமிழர்கள் இருந்தால் சேகரிக்கப்படும் தகவல்கள் தரமானதாக இருக்கும் என தென் மண்டல இணை இயக்குநர் தெரிவித்தார். ஆரம்ப சம்பளம் ரூ.50,000 வரை கிடைக்க கூடிய மத்திய அரசின் இந்த பணிக்கான வாய்ப்பை தமிழர்கள் பயன்படுத்திக் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

தேசிய புள்ளியல் துறையில் பணியில் சேர்வதற்கு ஸ்டாப் செலக்சன் கமிஷன் மூலம் (combined Graduate level examination) என்ற தேர்வில் தேர்ச்சி பெற வேண்டும்.

ஆனால் புள்ளியியல் துறைக்கான இந்த தேர்வுகள் குறித்து போதிய விழிப்புணர்வு இல்லாததால் தமிழர்கள் பணிக்கு வருவதில்லை என்று அதிகாரிகள் வருத்தப்படுகின்றனர்.

பின்னர் தேசிய புள்ளியல் துறை, சமூக பொருளாதார ஆய்வு, உற்பத்தி துறைகளில் ஆய்வு, சுற்றுலா செலவின ஆய்வு என பல்வேறு ஆய்வுகளை ஆண்டு முழுவதும் நடத்திக் கொண்டு வருகிறது.

இந்த ஆய்வுகளை மேற்கொள்ள களத்திற்கு சென்று மக்களை தொடர்பு கொண்டு அவர்களிடம் இருந்து நேரடி தகவல்களைத் துல்லியமாக பெறவேண்டும்.

இந்தப் பணிக்கு தமிழ் மொழி தெரிந்து இருப்பது அவசியமாகிறது. ஆனால் தேர்ச்சி பெற்று வருபவர்கள் தமிழ் தெரியாதவர்களாக இருப்பதால் அவர்களுக்கு தமிழ் வகுப்புகள் நடத்தி கள ஆய்வுக்கு அனுப்பி வைப்பதாக அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவிக்கின்றனர்.

தேசிய புள்ளியல் துறையின் தமிழ்நாட்டின் வடக்கு மண்டலத்தில் 42 இளநிலை அலுவலர்கள் பணியிடங்கள் உள்ளன. இதில் 18 இடங்கள் மட்டுமே நிரப்பப்பட்டுள்ளன. அதில் நான்கு பேர் மட்டுமே தமிழ் தெரிந்தவர்கள் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
