நேற்று முன்தினம் நிகழ்ந்த சூரிய கிரகணத்தைக் காண திண்டுக்கல் மாவட்டம் கொடைக்கானல் வான் இயற்பியல் மையத்தில் சிறப்பு ஏற்பாடுகள் செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தன. சூரிய கிரகண நிகழ்வையொட்டி சூரியனை ஆய்வு செய்யும் இம்மையத்திற்கு, அமெரிக்க விஞ்ஞானி ஜே பாசச்சோப் வந்திருந்தார். 

இம்மையத்தில் பணியாற்றும் விஞ்ஞானி எபினேசர் உட்பட பலருடன் இணைந்து சூரிய கிரகணத்தை சிறப்பு தொலை நோக்கிகள் மூலம் ஆய்வு செய்தார்.மாணவர்களுக்கு ஆர்வம் தேவைபின்னர் வான் இயற்பியல் பயிலும் மாணவர்கள் மத்தியில் அவர் பேசியதாவது: இதுவரை உலகெங்கிலும் 72 சூரிய கிரகணங்களை ஆய்வு செய்துள்ளேன். 

நேற்று முன்தினம் நிகழ்ந்த வளைய கிரகணம் 73வது நிகழ்வாகும். முழுச்சூரிய கிரகணம் நிகழும்போது சூரியனில் &'கரோனா&' எனப்படும் நெருப்பு உமிழ்தலை நன்றாக காண முடியும். வளைய சூரிய கிரகணத்தின் போது நிலவு சூரியனின் மையத்தில் 8 நிமிடங்கள் வரை நிலைகொண்ட வரலாற்று பதிவுகள் உள்ளன. 

இந்த கிரகணத்தில் 2.12 நிமிடங்கள் மட்டும் நிலை கொண்டது. மாணவர்கள் வானியிற்பியல் குறித்து நன்கு கற்று தெரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும், என்றார்.தபால் தலைவெளியீடுதமிழகத்தில் நிகழ்ந்த கிரகணத்தை சிறப்பாக புகைப்படங்கள் 

எடுத்த கோவையை சேர்ந்த ஓபிலி சந்திரன், டில்லியை சேர்ந்த ரோகிணி,ஆய்வக தொலை நோக்கி இயக்கும் கேபிரியல், விஞ்ஞானி குமரவேல், கொடைக்கானல் பள்ளி மாணவன் சாய் ஆதித்யா ஆகியோருக்கு பரிசு வழங்கினார். சூரிய கிரகணத்தை நினைவு படுத்தும் விதமாக தபால் தலை வெளியிடப்பட்டது.
