ஜனவரி-4: இன்று உலக பார்வையற்றோர் (பிரெய்லி) தினம்

ஜனவரி-4 ந்தேதி இன்று உலக பார்வையற்றோர் (பிரெய்லி) தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. ஐ.நா. சபையானது முதல் அலுவல் பூர்வமான உலக பிரெய்லி தினத்தினை 2019 ஜனவரி 04 ஆம் நாள் அனுசரித்தது.

பார்வையற்றோர் படிக்க உதவும் பிரெய்லி எழுத்து முறையைக் கண்டறிந்த லூயிஸ் பிரெய்லி (Louis Braille) பிறந்த தினமான ஜனவரி 4-ம் தேதியன்று அவர் நினைவாக சர்வதேச பிரெய்லி தினம் அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. லூயிஸ் பிரெய்லி, 1809 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 04 அன்று பிரான்ஸில் பிறந்தார்.

இவர் தனது 3-வது வயதில் கண் பார்வையை இழந்தார். தனது 10-வது வயதில் Royal Institute for Blind Youth என்கிற பார்வையற்றோருக்கான கல்வி நிறுவனத்தில் லூயிஸ் சேர்ந்தார்.

அவருக்கு கண் பார்வை பறிபோன பிறகு தன்னைச் சுற்றி இருக்கும் அனைத்தையும் கேட்டு, தொட்டு, முகர்ந்து பார்த்து உணர்ந்து அவை பற்றி அறிந்து கொண்டார். இதில் ஏற்படும் சிரமங்களை களைந்து புதிய எழுத்து முறையை கண்டறிந்தார்.

6 புள்ளிகள் கொண்ட வகையிலான அவரது எழுத்து முறைறை தொடக்க காலத்தில் கல்வியாளர்களும், அரசும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவில்லை. ஆனாலும் சற்றும் மனம் தளராமல் தன்னைப் போன்ற பார்வையற்றவர்கள் மத்தியில் இந்த எழுத்தைப் பற்றித் தொடர்ந்து பிரச்சாரம் செய்துகொண்டே இருந்தார்.

இது பார்வையற்றவர்கள் மத்தியில் பெரும் வரவேற்பை பெற்றது. அதுவே பிரெய்லி எழுத்தமுறை. இதை கண்டுபிடித்தபோது, லூயிஸ் வயது 20 மட்டுமே.அதன்பின்னரே, லூயிஸ் படித்த பள்ளி இயக்குநர், அதை அதே பள்ளியில் அறிமுகப்படுத்தியதோடு, பிரெய்லிக்கு அதே பள்ளியில் ஆசிரியராகவும் பணி வழங்கி கவுரவித்தார்.

இதைத்தொடர்ந்து 1829-ம் ஆண்டு 6 புள்ளிகள் கொண்ட பிரெய்லி முறையின் முதல் புத்தககம் வெளியிடப்பட்டது. அதை பின்பற்றியே 1837ம் ஆண்டு, History of France என்ற நூலை அவரது பள்ளி நிர்வாகம்-ல் வெளியிட்டது. தொடர்ந்து அறிவியல், கணிதம் தொடர்பான பிரெய்லி எழுத்து முறை புத்தகங்களை அவர் வெளியிட்டார்.

பின்னர் சிறிது சிறிதாக உலக அளவில் பிரெய்லியின் எழுத்து முறைக்கு அங்கீகாரம் கிடைத்து. இன்று உலகம் முழுவதும் லட்சக்கணக்கான கண்பார்வையற்றவர்களுக்கு பிரெய்லி எழுத்துமுறைதான் ஞானப்பார்வையாக இருந்து வருகிறது.

கண் பார்வை இழந்தோருக்கு தன்னம்பிக்கையூட்டும் வகை யிலும், உலகம் முழுவதும் உள்ள கண்பார்வை குறைபாடு உள்ளவர்களிடையே விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தும் வகையிலும் இந்த நாள் பிரெய்லி தினமாக அனுசரிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

January 4: Today is the World Vision Day (Braille) Day.

UN The Council observed the first official World Braille Day on January 4, 2019. International Braille Day is commemorated on January 4, the birthday of Louis Braille, who invented the Braille writing system for the blind.

Louis Braille, born January 04, 1809 in France. He lost his eyesight at age 3. At the age of 10, Lewis joined the Royal Institute for Blind Youth, a blind educational institution. After he was blindfolded, he listened, touched, and realized everything around him.

He was able to overcome the difficulties and invent a new writing system. His writing style of 6 points was not accepted by academics and the state at the beginning. However, he continued to propagate this writing among the blind, like himself. It was a huge welcome among the blind.

That's the Braille alphabet. Louis was only 20 years old when he discovered this. This was followed by the publication of the 6-point Braille Method in 1829. In 1837, he published the History of France in his school administration. He regularly published Braille writing books on science and mathematics.

Then, little by little, Braille's writing system became recognized worldwide. Today, Braille Writing is the wisdom of millions of blind people around the world. This day is observed as a Braille Day in the form of self-confidence for the visually impaired and to raise awareness among people with visual impairments around the world.
