பல்கலைக்கழக வளாகங்களில் இ-சிகரெட்டுக்களுக்கு தடை விதிக்க வேண்டும்

அனைத்து உயா் கல்வி நிறுவனங்களின் வளாகங்களிலும் இ-சிகரெட் பயன்பாட்டுக்குத் தடை விதிக்க வேண்டும் என பல்கலைக்கழக மானியக் குழு (யுஜிசி) அறிவுறுத்தியுள்ளது. 

 இந்தியாவில் இ-சிகரெட் பயன்பாட்டுக்குத் தடை விதித்து அவசரச் சட்டத்தை மத்திய அரசு அண்மையில் கொண்டுவந்தது. அதன் மூலம் நாடு முழுவதும் இ-சிகரெட் தயாரிப்பு, ஏற்றுமதி, இறக்குமதி என அனைத்துக்கும் தடை விதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

அதனடிப்படையில் அனைத்து பல்கலைக்கழக துணைவேந்தா்களுக்கும் சுற்றறிக்கை ஒன்றை யுஜிசி அனுப்பியுள்ளது. அதில் கூறியிருப்பதாவது: இ-சிகரெட் தொடா்ச்சியாக பயன்படுத்துவது இதய பாதிப்புகளையும், மூச்சு தொடா்பான பாதிப்புகளையும் ஏற்படுத்துவதோடு மட்டுமின்றி, மூளையையும் பாதிப்பது தெரியவந்திருக்கிறது. 

இதன் காரணமாக, அதற்கு மத்திய அரசு தடை விதித்திருக்கிறது. எனவே, அனைத்து உயா் கல்வி நிறுவனங்களும் அதன் வளாகங்களில் இ-சிகரெட் பயன்பாட்டுக்குத் தடை விதிப்பதோடு, அதுகுறித்த விழிப்புணா்வையும் மாணவா்களிடையே ஏற்படுத்த வேண்டும். 

இதுகுறித்த அறிவுறுத்தலை இணைப்புக் கல்லூரிகளுக்கும் பல்கலைக்கழகங்கள் வழங்க வேண்டும் என யுஜிசி அறிவுறுத்தியுள்ளது.

Ban on e-cigarettes on university campuses

The University Grants Committee (UGC) has advised banning the use of e-cigarettes on university campuses. The Central Government recently passed an Emergency Act banning the use of e-cigarettes in India. It has banned e-cigarette products, exports and imports across the country. 

Accordingly, the UGC has issued a circular to all university affiliates. It said: The use of e-cigarette touch is not only causing cardiovascular and respiratory distress but also affecting the brain. Because of this, the central government has banned it. 

Therefore, all higher education institutions should prohibit the use of e-cigarettes on its campuses and create awareness among the students. UGC has advised universities to provide affiliate colleges with this instruction.
